As your nutritionist/weight loss coach… I
I help you figure out where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there.
Many people are worried that I’m going to scold them, lecture them, or take away
their favorite foods. I am not this type of nutritionist. I consider myself much more of a food coach,
because my goal is to inform, inspire, counsel, and support my clients, and I want to see them succeed!
Throughout my life, I never responded well to teachers or bosses who took a hard line and used an
authoritarian approach. Even when I work with clients as a personal trainer, my style is much more about
helping people understand their bodies and fall in love with being active, far from a boot camp approach!
That said, if you were to meet with me, here’s what you could expect:
At the initial consultation, we will discuss your goals and I’ll share my thoughts and feedback about your
nutrition assessment.
This gives us both the starting point and destination, essentially the “where you are now” and “where you
want to end up.” I will explain the foundation plan of the PONO BODY program, and we will develop a game
plan together for how to proceed on fitting this into your lifestyle. I’ll explain the reasoning behind the plan or
changes including exactly how they will affect your body and what you can expect. I also have specific medical
& diabetic plans that the doctors love. After our initial virtual or in person consultation, we will schedule 1-3
check ins per week. These can also be virtual or in person or a combination of the two. One full week between
appointments is way too long to wait if you’re struggling, have questions, or get off track. These check in's
averages 30 minutes but sometimes will last longer when needed. We can decide at the initial consultation
what works best for you.
Remember....The joy is in the journey. My approach has evolved over the 35+ years I’ve been working with people
one-on-one. The amazing results are what keep me motivated. If you’re looking for a food cop, you won’t be happy
with someone like me and vice versa. I want you to ask me a lot of questions and get to know me and my
philosophies to be sure we are the best fit for our personalities, expectations and goals. Like physicians and
even hair stylists, not everyone in a given field takes the same approach or even believes in the same things.

Donna’s approach to health and fitness is based on one’s lifestyle and is always
individualized. She knows from the many years of working with clients one on one
that she can always take the excess body fat off someone, but the key is for them to be
able to maintain this lifestyle and live a long, healthy & happy life.
Donna has over 35 years’ experience working in the health and fitness industry.
She was a competitive athlete and started powerlifting in her 50’s.
She still holds two records in track and field from 1976.
She has managed several health clubs, worked for some of the largest weight loss
chains as a regional supervisor and trained and certified staff in nutrition and weight
loss counseling. In the late 90’s she started her own weight loss program then moved
to Hawaii to implement her program in health clubs on the islands. She is now semi-
retired but her passion for assisting individuals with diabetes, metabolic dis-ease, and
excess body weight still prevails.
Clean nutritious food, movement with resistance training, and relaxation therapy
techniques are just a few of the phases of her POA’s (plan of action) for a successful
outcome. Donna is very results driven and has great motivational techniques to keep her clients
inspired.
She starts with a 45-minute consultation before she decides if she is a match to assist in this health & longevity journey for the client.
